PA 909

Former Pennsylvania State Route 909 ran along the bluffs looking over the south shore of the Allegheny River from Oakmont to New Kensington.  It passed by the entrance to Oakmont Country Club and curved through Logan's Ferry.  The route was decommissioned by 1946; however, as late as 1952, AAA maps still show the route in existence (map at right).  Now known as Hulton Road (SR 2082) and Coxcomb Hill Road, there are still a few hints left that this was once a state primary route.  At Logans Ferry Road, there is one such remnant.  Street signs for the intersection read 'Route 909'.  Below, two photos from the Logans Ferry/Route 909 intersection. 1952 AAA
