Abandoned Tugaloo River Bridge
Georgia - South Carolina State Line

At the Georgia - South Carolina state line along US 123, there sits an abandoned Parker "camelback" truss bridge over the Tugaloo River.  It's been abandoned for some time and the center span of the bridge has been removed for fishing access on both the South Carolina and Georgia Side of the river.  The former pathway for US 123 snakes along both shores of the river until meeting up with the newer highway.

The former US 123 begins here in South Carolina. Across the highway is this old barricade.  US 123 North may once have traveled  through the woods. Approaching the bridge along former US 123.
A closer shot of the bridge showing the removed center span. You can see the former US 123 snaking its way along the Tugaloo on the Georgia side of the river. The side profile of the Parker "camelback" truss.
On the Georgia side of the river, looking the bridge straight on. With the center span of the old bridge removed. the old bridge has become a popular fishing hole.
