FL 91 (Floridas Turnpike)/NW 199th ST, Dade County, FL

The site of the Big Game

FL 91 (Floridas Turnpike) runs north-south, NW 199th St east-west, and FL 817 (NW 27th Av) is the north-south street at the left edge of the map. Each 'square' in the grid is approximately 1 km on a side.

Joe Robbie Stadium (now known as 'Pro-Player Park'), is mainly served by a new interchange from Floridas Turnpike (FL 91). This interchange (which I have enhanced to show the ramps and bridges in their correct configuration) is 'free' to and from the south and has a many lanes 'barrier' tollgate for traffic to and from the north. There is a 'barrier' tollgate a short distance to the south on the Turnpike mainline.

Even though the map does not show this detail, the main stadium parking lot is set up much like those seen at most typical malls. It has a 'grid' of aisles surrounded by a perimeter 'ring' road, with many connections to the surrounding streets (every direction except north), including one going directly to the Turnpike access roadway and two coming from it. The two-way entrance is located at the 'grid' line, the second one coming from the turnpike is at the north edge of the lot, right by the canal.

Judging by my personal experience on NFL 'gamedays' (my family has season tickets with the Green Bay Packers), this single turnpike interchange is likely a MAJOR bottleneck before and after games.

May the *BEST* team WIN!!!!!
